LATEST NEWS ON THIS EXCITING WALK!!!! IT'S NOW AN EVEN BIGGER EVENT!!!!

Walk 4 Wildlife was originally going to be a Land's End to John o'Groats walk, where hundreds of people could join in, not to walk the whole 900 or so miles, but to walk just a single leg of the journey as part of a sponsored relay walk for wildlife.

Walking around 20-25 miles each day we aimed to complete the journey in 50 days. And so that we could keep the whole event manageable, we limited the places on each day to 20.

Next step, who do we raise money for?  Here, we wanted to do something different.  We wanted to offer people the choice of raising money for 5 different, but equally deserving causes.  After a very thorough examination of hundreds of wildlife & conservation organizations, we decided to make this first ‘Walk 4 Wildlife’ a walk for some of the world’s most iconic and endangered species.  And so we came up with our own ‘Big 5’.

CHEETAH WALK  -  ELEPHANT WALK  -  LION WALK  -  RHINO WALK  -  TIGER WALK

So, now we had the idea, we’d selected the causes, picked the charities and started to put the route together.  We launched the website, announced the event and started to promote our very first mass sponsored ‘Walk 4 Wildlife’.

5 Teams - 50 Days - 1,000 People, all raising money for 5 thoroughly deserving wildlife causes

What we didn't bargain for was just how many people would want to join in the walk.  Within a few weeks of launching the website some of the stages were completely full and people were asking if there would be any more ‘walks’ in other areas around the UK later in the year.  We were staggered by how many people wanted to do a sponsored walk for wildlife and it quickly became apparent that we needed to expand our original idea of a single end-to end relay walk.  So now, rather than just being a single walk from Land's End to John o'Groats, hundreds of wildlife walks will be taking place all over the UK at various locations, over varying distances and on different dates throughout the year.

You choose which cause you want to support and either join an existing walk or be the first to set up a walk in your local area.  Or you can suggest a walk and we will see if anyone else is interested in joining you.  You can walk just a few miles or, if you're feeling energetic, aim to walk the entire day.

Or maybe the awesome Tiger in the wilds of India, the choice is yours!

One thing is for sure, this will be an experience of a lifetime.

Not only that, but all participants are being invited to a post event gala dinner and presentation evening. (Date & venue to be decided). There will be food and live entertainment and also a number of guest speakers, including representatives from the five charities the event is supporting. This promises to be a very special event.
