4 key objectives

LION AID™ has four key objectives we aim to achieve.

1. A better count of how many lions remain in the wild in order to be able to focus conservation needs.

2. A disease survey among selected lion populations.

3. The launch of dedicated research programmes to both deliver facts about selected populations and to coordinate a government-sanctioned conservation programme.

4. The introduction of the concept of an Iconic Heritage Species™ to UNESCO. Lions would be significant contenders, interwoven as they are with human culture and heritage. This would afford lions greater international recognition and protection, and hopefully additional funding through dedicated UNESCO member state funding.
