We would like to thank David Ross and his team at Knowsley Safari Park for holding a bucket collection for LION AID during our March campaign.
We are so very grateful for donations from the public to help us raise awareness of the plight of the African Lion which is facing extinction in the wild. Back in the 1960’s there were in excess of 200,000 wild lions and now we are down to probably less than 20,000 lions. This is a staggering 90% decline over 50 years. In addition, a recent analysis estimates that even optimistically, only six lion populations contain the necessary number of individuals to be considered long-term viable.
LION AID is committed to galvanizing public support through specific promotional and educational campaigns and to raise sufficient funds to prevent the slide into extinction of this magnificent species.

Calling on artists, sculptors, poets, writers, photographers
LION AID™ will facilitate constructive research to conserve African Lion populations.
