FAQs About LionAid

Frequently Asked Questions about LionAid the charity

Q:
Over 4000 wild lion trophies were exported from Africa ( 2002 - 2008), most into the US. How will you stop this slaughter?

What you must realize is that all those trophies were legally exported and imported according to international regulations. CITES and the IUCN refuse to change their stance on elevating the status of lions to an endangered species. There are multiple influential players at work here, coupled with decisions made by committees too toothless to make a bold stand. It is however a fact that any nation can independently ban the import of any wildlife product. It is after all your taxes that support such entities. Lion Aid is convinced that any public referendum, whether in the United States, Germany, the UK – would convince lawmakers to ban imports of lion trophies to their countries.
