Have a look at this You Tube clip of a wild lion trophy hunt in the Selous in Tanzania.  You may find it shocking.....

Lion hunters say that they espouse the principle of “fair chase”. This means the wild lion (as opposed to a “canned lion”) has a chance of escaping from the hunter. As you will see in this You Tube clip, the truth is different. The “hunter” sits (or sleeps) in a hide, has to be woken up, and then cannot possibly miss. Note the “hero’s” welcome, complete with dancing, flowers, and being carried on shoulders. We estimate the age of the “magnificent trophy” to be about 3.5 years old by the condition of his teeth. Another underage lion contributing his life to this unsustainable activity.
